Thriving to grow and create a difference, Franck is humble, adaptive and a sales guru who’s passionate about technology. With a bagful of experience into sales and business development, He brings along his sales mantra to make connectivity easier by helping the PMS companies grow. Meet Franck Leprodhomme, Head of Sales for Su.
Tell us a bit about your career in hospitality/ technology and the journey to Su. (Work background and experience and how what made you choose Su)
I started my career in international business development, I worked in the USA in the library industry, growing an international network of resellers for a major player in North America. After spending 6 years there, I returned to France to interview for a major technology provider to the hospitality space. This is how I started my career in hospitality & tech!
Eventually, I started growing international sales for the organisation and grew in my role over the years to handle the Global Sales department including partnerships, and sales for hotels and chains. After spending 11 years with this company, I decided to move on and create my own consultancy firm which gave me the opportunity to work for a few more companies in the industry including customer review providers, all-in-one solutions from start-ups and even spent some time in the augmented reality / 3D model space.
After this last experience, in an environment that is pretty much at the top of the tech scheme those days, I realized I missed the “Hospitech” industry, and I started searching for my next challenge, this is how I found the position available with Su.
From the first conversations I had with the Su recruitment team, I felt very comfortable with the company culture and several interviewers I had a chance to interact with. I knew this was my next stop as long as they agreed I was the man for the role.
What do you like most about Su and your job?
I was first attracted to Su because it seemed very tech focused, I truly enjoy this part of the job as when I started in this field it was one of the challenges I had to overcome, and I believe I did this successfully.
But while I looked deeper into the value proposition, I realized this was solving a very big pain point for the PMS industry, removing the need for properties to contract with multiple providers, therefore removing the friction points and ping pong effect we’ve all experienced between PMS providers and booking engines/channel managers.
I was immediately convinced this had huge potential on the market, and the fact that the company had achieved such great results in a short period of time (during Covid) confirmed my assumptions.
I love what I do at Su as I was given the mission to structure the operations and sales in order to make it the most efficient possible, while carrying this message of innovation to the market and growing our partner base. When you believe in the solutions you offer; you are not selling anything one more day in your life.
I can combine my love for the hospitality industry, the technology with the challenge of growing the market for a great solution. After all, I have been in strategic sales and management positions most of my life because I enjoy the thrill of the achievements. I have been given a lot autonomy in the way Su is positioned and pushed to the market and this is a great opportunity I am grateful for.
Your success mantra?
Whether you think you can or can’t, you are right!
I truly believe, one will achieve anything as long as he/she believes in it and him/herself. If you don’t, you will likely prove yourself right and fail! This is what I call a self-fulfilling prophecy
Your interests outside Su. Do they help you do your job
I have a passion for mechanics, restauration of vintage cars and motorcycles. I have restored multiple vintage cars such as an old mustang fastback, older BMWs from the 70’s/80’s and also love to work on 2 stroke motorcycles.
This helps me daily as it is a great way for me to clear my head, and therefore I always keep a window open on weekends to spend time working in the garage. This is my meditation!
I also love cooking and actually spend a lot of time in the kitchen with some good music in the background. I make anything ranging from fresh lasagna to Asian food (At least I try ). Love to make crusty laotian rice (Nem Thadeua), Phat Thaï and other homemade recipes inspired by ingredients I like.
Aside from that I practice a lot of sport, have been boxing for the last 30 years or so and love travelling as well (like many ).
