Su, the breakthrough technology designed to extend the online distribution for property management systems, has unveiled its annual list of top booking channels.
The list shows a broad range of consumer booking choices and a shift away from the consolidation seen in previous years. Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda and Airbnb retain the top four spots compared to the last year. The biggest gainer for this year was Trip.com, moving up three spots to number six.
The annual list of top distribution channels for the properties connected to Su also highlights the sustained growth of direct bookings in the sector, with hotel websites maintaining the fifth spot.
“Customer experience is the cornerstone of hospitality business, and the booking channels plays a pivotal role in shaping the online guest journey. It enables the properties to establish a direct connection with their guests while offering personalized support,” says Franck Leprodhomme, Global Head of Sales from Su. “In the last few years properties across the world are making a conscious effort and a deliberate shift towards prioritizing the direct booking channels by investing in advanced technologies. This includes implementing property management systems with seamless integrations to essential tools like channel managers, booking engines, and payment gateways. These strategic investments are starting to yield significant results. This choice is beginning to pay off well.”
Local and regional distribution channels continue to strengthen with Traveloka keeping its spot on the top 10 list. Wholesalers such as popular bed bank Hotelbeds and Global Distribution Systems (GDS) through the GDS maintained their relevance as well.
“Today’s travellers are using all types of devices and online channels to meet their travel plans,” says Franck. “Our data shows this trend is driving hoteliers across the globe to develop and execute a comprehensive and holistic distribution mix that ensures they are present wherever their customers are searching. The role of a well-connected property management system is being recognised to execute this 360-degree strategy,” Franck added.
